Please direct your attention to Portugal, which at only 33 seconds in, still has the same borders it has today, with no change. (well... apart from that period where it was taken over by Spain in the Filipine dinasty). Yes we're tiny, and apparently very complacent as well.

What I found interesting was how stable the big mess of pre-German states was after the Holy Roman Empire disintegrated. I would have expected that whole region to be a colossal mussy bloodbath.
